Open IC Markets Account and Connect with LMX Trade
Follow this simple guide to create your trading account with IC Markets and connect it with LMX Trade strategies. The entire process takes about 5-10 minutes.
Open IC Markets Account
First, create a free account with IC Markets.
a Visit IC Markets Website
Visit the official IC Markets website and click on "Open Live Account" or "Register".
Open IC Marketsb Enter Personal Information
Fill out the registration form with your correct information:
- First and Last Name (as on ID document)
- Email Address (active email for confirmations)
- Phone Number
- Country of Residence and complete address
- Date of Birth
c Confirm Email
After registration, you will receive a confirmation email from IC Markets. Click on the confirmation link in the email to activate your account.
Create MT5 Trading Account
Create a MetaTrader 5 (MT5) account for automated trading.
a Login to Client Portal
After email confirmation, log in to your IC Markets Client Portal.
b Open New Trading Account
In the Client Portal, find the option "Open New Trading Account". Select the following settings:

After creation, you will receive your trading account credentials via email. You'll need these for LMX Trade:
d Fund Account (optional)
You can now deposit money into your trading account or do this later. For LMX Trade we recommend:
- • Recommended minimum deposit: €400
- • Absolute minimum deposit: €300
Connect Account with LMX Trade
Connect your IC Markets account with your chosen LMX strategy.
a Open LMX Trade Dashboard
Log in to your LMX Trade Dashboard and select your desired strategy.
Open Dashboardb Enter Broker Credentials
Click on "Connect Broker" or "Enter Credentials" for your chosen strategy. Fill out the form with your IC Markets credentials:
c Confirm Connection
Click "Save" or "Connect". Our system will verify the connection to your trading account. Upon successful connection, you'll see a confirmation message.
Security Notice
Your credentials are stored encrypted and used exclusively for automated trade execution. Your capital always remains with IC Markets – LMX Trade never has access to your funds. You retain full control and can disconnect at any time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to install MT5 on my computer?
No, this is not necessary. LMX Trade trades automatically through our servers. You can optionally install MT5 to watch your trades in real-time, but it's not required.
Can I use multiple strategies with one IC Markets account?
No, only one LMX strategy can be active per IC Markets trading account. If you want to use multiple strategies, simply create multiple trading accounts with IC Markets (this is free).
What's the difference between master and investor password?
Master Password: Allows full access (trading, deposits/withdrawals, settings). This is what we need for automated trading.
Investor Password: Read-only access, no trading capability. Ideal for monitoring, but not suitable for LMX Trade.
How long does activation take after connection?
Activation typically occurs within 24 hours. You will receive an email notification once your strategy is active and starts automated trading.
Can I disconnect at any time?
Yes, you can disconnect at any time in your LMX Trade Dashboard. Alternatively, you can simply change your IC Markets password – the connection will be automatically interrupted.
